It will support you in attaining your career goals with a highly respected qualification.
The University of Canberra prides itself in being a recognised leader in the provision of high quality undergraduate and postgraduate education underpinned by a sound research profile. We have in the past two years been acknowledged for our strong learning and teaching performance in successive all-Australian universities assessments.
We are a University that engages with the needs of the community we serve and we provide focused learning experiences. We educate professionals for approximately 30 different professions, including health, education, resource science, communication, design, business and government and international studies.
Our teaching and learning emphasise flexible programs, student-centred learning, online delivery components and development of graduate qualities for successful employment. The University is consistently among those with the highest employment rates for graduates in Australia, and has been so for many years. The success of our students is testimony to the quality and substance of a University of Canberra education.
The University of Canberra, based in Australia’s National Capital, is a cosmopolitan Australian university in a world whose boundaries diminish daily. We have a particularly strong commitment to internationalisation and we attract students and staff from all over the world. We also provide opportunities for our students to gain international experience through a scheme of exchange initiatives.
The University of Canberra is a single campus with a range of amenities and diverse learning experiences. It prides itself on a student-centred learning environment which especially values students for their uniqueness and capacity to contribute to university life. All the staff of the University look forward to the energy, freshness and creative ideas that each year’s intake of new students brings to our campus.
I hope you enjoy browsing our website and I encourage you to seek more information by contacting the University about your particular areas of interest.

About the University
The University of Canberra is set in a unique environment. The Campus is a haven of clean air, tall trees and native vegetation, with many different birds, including white cockatoos, and resident kangaroos, yet it's handy to popular entertainment and shopping venues including Westfield Shoppingtown in nearby Belconnen, and the Canberra Centre in Civic, the City Centre.
Academic standards are high and career results are excellent. The university has produced over sixty thousand graduates. Many now occupy senior positions in the professions, the corporate world and the public service of Australia and several other countries. Others have become prominent writers, journalists, performers and sports men and women. The University prides itself on professionally preparing students for professional life.
There are more than nine thousand full time students, working towards undergraduate Bachelors Degrees and Diplomas, and Graduate Certificates, Diplomas, Masters degrees or Doctorates. Students are attracted to the University from the ACT and surrounding areas, from every state in Australia and from some 80 countries around the world. 1100 students live on campus and this number will increase in future years.
Balance study with relaxation
Concentrated study needs to be balanced by periods of relaxation and the campus cafes are great places for students to get together. There are clubs and societies catering to a wide range of interests, including competitive teams covering most major sports and the University of Canberra Union Sports and Fitness Centre is more than a gymnasium. Along with classes, cardio exercise and weights, it offers tennis, squash and indoor basketball courts and sits adjacent to two sports grounds.
Elite Athletes at UC
The University of Canberra is a member of the Elite Athlete Friendly University (EAFU) network. As such, the University has signed an agreement with the Australian Sports Commission and the Australian Capital Territory Academy of Sport to support the integration of Australian elite athletes' sporting and academic aspirations. See our Elite Athletes site for details.
